The Sun Rises and Sets On Another Day of Opportunity

The Day the World Changed

THE DAY THE WORLD CHANGED

September 11th 2001 my normal day had just begun
The sun was shining on the lake A day in Florida is a piece of cake
With cup of coffee in my hand I looked out and surveyed my land
Birds were feeding The landscape was green Never a more peaceful scene
BUT THE WORLD WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE

I was watching the stock market on TV The channel I watched was CNBC
At 8:45 a picture did appear. I called to my wife that she should come here
The picture I saw I did not believe The World Trade Center burning. Did my eyes deceive?
Then the words "TERRORIST ATTACK" made hair stand up on my neck
THE WORLD WAS CHANGING AND THE WORLD WAS WATCHING

My senses were numb I could hardly feel It was like a movie It was so surreal
"TOWER ONE" "TOWER TWO" "THE PENTAGON" "FLIGHT 93 DOWN AND GONE"
And then the worst terror of all "TOWER TWO" started to crumble and fall
Then my mind reeled there were people inside My body broke I sat down and cried
AND THE WORLD CHANGED
