The Sun Rises and Sets On Another Day of Opportunity

Mike's Page

He Gave Them the World

1

She was just a little girl

 Alone in this world

looking for a warm hand to hold.

 Every night she'd pray

Tomorrow will be the day

She'll see her mom and dad

they'll take her home

She wants to know what the other kids do

She prays to God that he'll see her through

Chorus

He's gonna give her the world

He's gonna let her see

a world full of life, a world full of love

That's how its supposed to be

He's gonna give her the world.

2

A young man and his wife

Starting out in life

Looking for another heart to hold

Every night they pray

Tomorrow will be the day

they'll get a call, they'll get good news

They want to know what other families do

they pray to God he'll make their dreams come true

Chorus

He's gonna give them the world

H's gonna let them see

A world full of life, a world full of love

that's what its supposed to be

He's gonna give them the world

Bridge

Her mom and dad left her for a life full of drugs

They have each other yet, still alone

With a little prayer and help from above

The three together turn a house to a home

3

This family has found its place in the world

Looking forward to the life that's to come

They thank God for making their dreams come true

three hearts together as one

Chorus

He gave them the world

 He let them see

Its a world full of life, a life full of love

That's how its supposed to be

He gave them the world

She's Beautiful,- Dannon and Shaylee

Dedication- My wife works for the Ronald McDonald House. Several years ago the new House was opened in Pensacola. Through out the house their are pictures and stories of the families that have stayed at the House over the years. One picture in particular caught my attention. Probably because I have one just like it with my daughter. The picture is a baby held in the hand of her father. Literally. The girl is a preemie. So small that her whole body fits in her dad's hand. My daughter was not premature but I wondered what I would feel.  The Ronald McDonald House is such a great organization. I am so proud of Shannon for doing what she does. My heart goes to all who are there.

She is beautiful, Nothing I can do or say can change the way the sun plays on her face.

She is wonderful, to have and hold from her head to her toes

I feel her heart beat next to mine

Please, God, Don't take her from me

Cause a little girl needs her daddy

A daddy needs his little girl

Its a bond that lasts forever

Its a love that conquers all

I'll love her forever, give her all she needs

Take me in her place, God

Please, don't take her from me

A daddy needs his little girl.

It's a great day when I see her smile

though it takes a while through the pain

I know I cant take it away

I know someday soon, I know its true

the miracle will come through

This I must believe

Until then, don't take her from me

Cause a little girl needs her daddy
a daddy needs his little girl
Its a bond that lasts forever
Its a love that conquers all
I'll love her forever, give her all she needs
take me in her place, God
Please, don't take her from me
A daddy needs his little girl.

Flip Flop Floatie.

Kind of a Cha Cha type of thing.

So, I am kind of a McGguiver or Toolman Taylor.

When the kids were small my wife wanted a wading pool. I moved it up a notch. I got a DIY pool from the local bulk-product store. 4 feet deep. 16 feet across, salt water chlorination. I was at the store one day and came upon a tie died flip flop pool float. I put it in the pool. While cooking out that afternoon I heard something that I had not heard too much of as my kids were young and sibling rivalry was high. My kids were laughing with each other. I looked and low and behold, all three of them were bouncing on the flip flop.  My heart beamed with joy. The rest went into this song that I still can't put to music. CJ Watson said it was a cha cha, so, I had to look that up.

It don't get better than that....

I have a flip flop floatie in my back yard

holds three kids at time

My beautiful wife in a black one piece

Lord, she looks so fine

I got a little cooler, it holds 24

We're cooking out with the family next door

It can't get better than that

Went to the beach on a Saturday night

Out on a date with my lovely wife

This tourist trap has got me down

couldn't find a local anywhere in town

Jet skies, drunks, and Karaoke cant' compete with

The flip flop floate in my back yard

guaranteed to cure what ails me

When this blue collared shirt around my neck

Can't seem to fix what fails me

my 3 girls will make the pope cuss

I pray to god they never grow up

cause it can't get better than that

I got to work on Monday morning

the stuff on the fan, it hit without a warning

I'll face the day and come what will

My boss just called me an imbecile

Reports, meetings, being misquoted

are no substitute for

A flip flop floatie on a mountain stream

In western Carolina

The air so clean, mountain so green

No place could be finer

No better way to escape the game, than playing my guitar in the mountain rain

And it cant get better than that.
